Haddonfield High School Crew Club (Haddonfield, NJ) is looking for an Assistant Coach to begin immediately in preparation for the fall 2010 season. HCC rows out of the Cooper River Boathouse and runs a fall and spring competitive program that includes winter conditioning. The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and will help with implementing the program. This includes helping execute daily after school practices and race day coaching, care and maintenance of equipment, communication with athletes and parents, and other such duties as may be requested by the Head Coach.
Candidates should be mature experienced rowers and demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to teaching and team. This is an afternoon program, schedule availability is a must. Compensation will be commensurate with experience level.

James Madison High School Crew in Vienna, VA is looking for Assistant Coaches for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. This past year the Warhawks rowed their most successful season in team history with the Men's Lightweight 8 winning a silver medal at Virginia Champs; the Men's Novice 8, Women's Novice 8, and Women's Lightweight 4 winning gold at Virginia Champs; the Women's Lightweight 4 receiving All-Met recognition as the best boat in that category; the Women's Junior 8 finishing fourth at the Stotesbury Cup (best finish in team history), and the Women's Junior 8 winning silver at Nationals (first National's medal in team history).
There are openings at the varsity and novice level on both the men's and women's sides of the team. Practices are held in the afternoon and positions are full time or part time depending on the applicant's availability. Winter conditioning practices (3-6 pm at James Madison High School) begin in late November with the water practice (3:30-6:00 pm at Sandy Run Rowing Facility) beginning in February and running through May. Salary is competitive and based on coaching experience, training, certification, and years as a rower/coxswain.
Successful candidates will have the ability to: plan and run efficient workouts, set practice and race lineups, develop rower fitness and technique, prep crews for racing, as well as attend races, meetings, and recruiting activities. Most importantly, candidates must be POSITIVE, PASSIONATE individuals who have a DESIRE to work in a rewarding environment and INSPIRE their young athletes to perform to their full potential. Applicants must be able to pass the Fairfax County Public Schools' background check and TB test. There are also FCPS mandatory classes which must be completed before starting to coach with more in depth courses required after the end of the first year. U.S. Rowing certifications as well CPR and First proficiency are well regarded but are not required. However candidates should be willing to complete training if necessary. Previous rowing experience (at any level) is required and previous high school coaching experience is a plus.

Brandeis Crew, a collegiate club sports Division III program, is seeking an Assistant Coach for its co-ed team. We row on the Lower Charles River in Auburndale, MA only a few miles away from the University's Waltham campus. We're looking for an enthusiastic, well-organized individual who is passionate about rowing with the ability to coach athletes of varying levels of skills and experience. Duties include coaching and supervising 4-5 practices per week, overseeing participation in races and regattas, ensuring safety of the rowers and equipment, and working with the team's head coach and novice coach.

As member of American Collegiate Rowing Association we compete in fall and spring races throughout the Northeast and Mid Atlantic regions. Over the years we’ve been competitive at regattas such as Head of the Charles and Dad Vail Regatta.
The Head Coach of the Rowing Club is responsible for directing all aspects of the team. This includes supervising daily practices of the varsity squad, organization of a competitive racing program, maintaining adequate safety standards for the program, maintaining equipment, operating within the club’s budget, and directing and supervising assistant coaches. Other duties are outlined in the Head Coach's Standard of Expectations.
Compensation:
- $16,000 – $20,000 based on experience
