Wichita State University is seeking a ten month, full-time, Assistant Coach. This position offers full benefits.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Commitment to upholding the mission and values of the program, division and university.
• The ability to conduct computer work involving MS Office applications and
e-mail.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Good written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student-athlete population.
Preferred:
• USRA coaching certification
• Masters’ degree
• Intercollegiate coaching experience
• Ability to stay organized in management aspects of the rowing program.

Responsibilities:
• Assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of the men’s and women’s rowing program.
• Duties to be conducted under the supervision of the head coach include but may not be limited to coaching assigned crews, designing practices and land training, attending racing events, rigging, shell repair, trailer driving, on and off campus recruiting, coordinating team fund-raisers, budget related aspects and equipment maintenance.
• Conduct all responsibilities within the rules and regulations of the Dad Vail Regatta and Wichita State University.

Start date: August 10, 2008
