JP Sekulich

JP began his career with Vespoli in the July 2008, after two years with Marietta College (Ohio) as an assist coach and recruiting coordinator. While at Marietta he earned his Master’s degree in Education, writing his thesis on the psychological and physiological impact of single dimensional sport choice on high school athletes. JP began rowing at St Ignatius Prep in San Francisco, went on to row at Cal Berkeley, and returned to coach at St Ignatius. JP also has the unique prospective of having coached and competed in Masters swimming. He’s completed the Alcatraz to San Francisco and Golden Gate Bridge swims.
Being from the west coast and having coached in Ohio and recruited throughout the Midwest, JP is very familiar with the rowing programs in these two regions. He has the experience, expertise, and enthusiasm to assist all the various types of programs within these regions with their unique needs. JP is quick to pick up an oar and jump in with a master’s crew for practice or races. He is also an avid cyclist. He currently resides in Shaker Heights OH, and can frequently be found around the Western Reserve Boathouse in Cleveland.
